Several words about the author

1966 – He was born in Domažlice, Czechoslovakia.

1972 – He started to go to a Primary School in Pilsen, till the time he had lived in Staňkov (West Bohemia).

1978 – He obtained his first simple camera Corina and he started to prepare his first black-and-white photos in the family bathroom.

1980 – He started to go to the Masaryk Grammar School in Pilsen .

1982 – He bought new camera LOMO, so he started to work with 36x24 mm film.

1984 – He began to study at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague.

1989 – He entered to the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Academy of Science, as a research worker.

1993 – He started to teach chemistry and physics at František Křižík Grammar School in Pilsen, he married and moved to Rokycany.

1997 – He changed totally his job, he left education area and he entered to the economic sector.

1998 – He bought his first reflex camera, analogue Canon EOS 300.

2000 – He entered to Česká spořitelna to a marketing position.

2006 – He began to deal with photography in more intensive way, both theoretically and practically, and to use different types of photofilters.

2008 – He moved to Dobřichovice (near Prague) and he changed marketing job to IT architecture position.

2009 – He bought the first digital reflex camera Canon 550 D and he discovered magic world of the long expositions for the first time.

2009 – He established his personal blog where he has published till this time his own short essays, stories, notes, reportages and poems.

2010 – He divorced, he exceeded his interest to macrophotography and - in spite of physical laws knowledge - he found that inexhaustible source of creative inspiration can exist in reality as well.

2011 – He entered into the world of infrared photography.

2013 – He opened these own webpages www.petrvapenik.com for publishing of his best photos.

2013 – He organized his first photoexhibition (Pictures from "behind-the-light") in Dobřichovice Castle and paralelly he presented his photocycle Magic Garden in Polička town.

2014 – He presented his photos in Česká spořitelna Gallery, Rytířská street in Prague; curator of his exhibition was Dr. Duňa Panenková, historian of Art. He began to sell his photos to the interested persons.

2016 - Collection of 18 photos has been presented for two month during the exhibition in restaurant/gallery Pod Lipami (Prague - Vrsovice)
